So we've been at this for nine years. We were introduced by friends at a wedding - Bob had written a musical toast to the tune of "I Got You Babe" and he needed a Cher. Couple of years later we were both living in San Francisco and were reintroduced by the bride and groom to work up a performance for New Year's Eve 1999 in Sonoma. Might've been the wine, but since then we've written an insane amount of songs, most of which we're just too persnickity to develop (plus Bob can't remember half of them now. He stores them in his subconscious and if I get him drunk it'll come back to him.) Bob likes to grade them, and anything less than a B+ goes forgotten.
Some of my favorite songs are the first ones we wrote; some are the ones whose words are written on grocery reciepts piling up on my dashboard, yet to be sung. But we'll get there. I hate it when I get an idea. Traffic hazard. Then there's Bob's process, totally mysterious to me. His brain is kind of like a overstuffed file cabinet, there are no folders, and he's got coffee spilled on half the pages. But wow what's in there.
We're honored that all these years we've had really supportive families and lovely groupies. We've managed to get a few of our songs into influential hands and amazing artists - we've had wild rides and hope for many more.
